Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech-language pathology services in a long-term care setting in Giddings, TX.

The Speech-Language Pathologist will evaluate residents, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapy to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing abilities while helping reduce the risk of aspiration.

This role also involves coordinating and directing speech-language pathology services in accordance with applicable regulations, professional standards, and established care procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on resident needs and clinical assessments.
  • Provide therapy to improve communication and help residents better understand and communicate with others.
  • Provide swallowing therapy and interventions designed to improve safe eating and drinking.
  • Implement strategies to help reduce the risk of aspiration.
  • Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as appropriate.
  • Document evaluations, treatments, progress, and recommendations accurately.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Provide speech-language pathology services in accordance with applicable federal and state regulations and professional standards.
  • Help ensure appropriate and quality care for residents.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of Speech-Language Pathology experience.
  • Active Texas SLP license or eligible compact license.
  • Ability to provide speech-language pathology services in a long-term care environment.
  • Strong communication, assessment, documentation, and clinical skills.
