🛑 THE "DEAL-BREAKERS" (Must Meet to Apply):
- EXPERIENCE: Minimum 2 years in healthcare revenue cycle billing and reimbursement.
- KNOWLEDGE: Strong understanding of health insurance plans; NJ Charity Care and Medicaid experience preferred.
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- SKILLS: Basic medical terminology, continuity of care protocols, and coding principles.
📅 SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY:
- Shift: Days (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM).
- Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-Time).
- Duration: 6-month contract assignment.
🏥 CLINICAL ENVIRONMENT:
- Setting: Hospital-based Central Billing Unit.
- Focus: Financial screening for inpatient and outpatient services (surgeries, diagnostics, and office visits).
- Team: Collaborative environment interacting with patients, clinicians, and administrators.
📋 CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Patient Navigation: Complete financial referrals and assess patient history to identify appropriate coverage options.
- Financial Assessment: Explore third-party liability options including Charity Care, Disability, Medicaid, SEED Program, and Victims of Crime.
- Patient Education: Explain NJ State Presumptive Eligibility and CMS Insurance Marketplace options; help patients understand and utilize new benefits.
- Revenue Collection: Generate patient liability estimates, collect payments, and establish manageable payment arrangements.
- Documentation: Provide clear, concise documentation within the hospital’s financial systems.
