Airman Ministry Coordinator (AMC)
Position Summary
Seeking an Airman Ministry Coordinator to support a military Airmen Ministry program focused on spiritual resiliency, community and peer connection, character and leadership development, and support for young/unaccompanied Airmen.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate weekly, monthly, and special events for Airmen.
- Organize recreational activities, sporting events, community service projects, fellowship dinners, Bible studies, and retreats.
- Develop an annual calendar of ministry, leadership, spiritual development, and recreational activities.
- Provide mentoring and character/leadership development opportunities.
- Recruit, interview, train, and coordinate ministry volunteers.
- Present First Term Airmen Program ministry briefings.
- Maintain participant records and submit monthly program reports.
- Coordinate all activities with the Chaplain in Charge/Wing Chaplain.
- Support an inclusive, interfaith environment while respecting all faith traditions.
- Provide labor and transportation necessary to perform assigned duties.
- Assist with planning and managing program budgets and funding documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Ministry, or an equivalent academic degree from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to work within a military structure and environment.
- Ability to work effectively in an inclusive, interfaith environment.
- Demonstrated spiritual maturity and personal resiliency.
- Strong organizational, communication, mentoring, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience providing ministry services to military service members.
- Experience working with young adults ages 18–27.
Schedule
- 16 hours per week minimum / 64 hours per month.
- Flexible schedule required.
- Work will routinely include evenings, weekends, and federal holidays.
Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of applicable background checks/security requirements.
- Ability to obtain required government installation identification/access credentials.
- Compliance with applicable military, security, safety, and facility regulations.
- Candidates must be able to maintain appropriate religious sensitivity and must not use coercion to influence an individual's religious affiliation.
