Job Title: Medical Assistant II – Family Medicine / Outpatient Primary Care

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and certified Medical Assistant II to join an active Family Medicine outpatient clinic. In this role, you will perform a wide range of clinical and administrative duties, including taking vital signs, administering injections, performing routine lab draws, preparing examination rooms, and providing seamless clinical support to providers and patients.

Compensation & Schedule:
  • Pay Rate: $21.19 – $32.85 / hour (commensurate with education and experience).
  • Position Type: Full-Time, Day Shift Outpatient.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Patient Prep: Greet patients, record vital signs, document medical histories, prepare rooms and diagnostic equipment, and alert providers to urgent patient concerns or emergencies.
  • Specimen Collection & Lab Duties: Perform routine venipuncture, capillary draws, specimen collection, and simple diagnostic testing; process laboratory samples following proper handling protocols.
  • Procedures & Sterilization: Maintain aseptic technique, prepare and sterilize instruments (autoclaving), clean and disinfect exam rooms, and assist providers during clinical examinations and minor procedures.
  • Patient Communication & Administration: Field patient phone inquiries (coordinating with nursing/providers as needed), schedule appointments, assist with patient registration, and instruct patients on pre-procedure preparations.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program [Required].
  • Certifications & Credentials:
    • Active Certification/Registration as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA via AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA via AMT), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) [Required].
    • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
  • Clinical Experience: Prior experience in an outpatient ambulatory care or primary care setting [Strongly Preferred].
  • Core Competencies: Proficient phlebotomy skills, strong aseptic/sterilization knowledge, excellent phone triage communication, and basic administrative capabilities.
