Shift & Schedule: 8-Hour Night Shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM) | Must be willing to float to other units as needed.
Weekend & Call Requirements: Every other weekend required | No on-call coverage | Blocked scheduling will NOT be approved.
Position Overview & Key Responsibilities:
A long-term care facility in the Bad Axe region is seeking a qualified Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for 8-hour night shifts. Working under the direction of licensed nursing staff, the CNA provides essential direct patient care, supportive services, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) in accordance with established care plans and facility standards.
- Direct Patient Care & ADLs: Assist residents with activities of daily living, including lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and safe transfers in and out of beds, chairs, wheelchairs, and lifts.
- Nutritional & Dining Support: Deliver meal trays and nutritional supplements, coordinate dining room set-up and clean-up, assist residents with feeding, and accurately document daily meal and fluid intake.
- Health & Condition Monitoring: Assist with resident weighing, track skin integrity (reporting pressure areas, skin breakdown, or tears), support toileting programs, and immediately report any changes in condition or resident refusals to the supervising nurse.
- Documentation & Compliance: Complete daily flow sheets, record resident progress as directed, and maintain accurate care records per facility policy.
Candidate Submission & Qualification Requirements:
Clinical & Background Experience:
- LTC Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) [REQUIRED].
- Travel Experience: Previous healthcare contract/travel experience [REQUIRED].
- Work History: Consistent, successful work history demonstrating candidate tenure longer than 13 weeks at previous placements [REQUIRED].
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent [REQUIRED].
Licensure & Certifications:
- State License: Active, unencumbered Michigan CNA Certification active at time of submission [REQUIRED].
- Disciplinary Record: No active disciplinary actions against CNA certification [REQUIRED].
- Life Support: Active BLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) [REQUIRED].
