Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our Operating Room team. In this role, you will work alongside surgeons, registered nurses, and anesthesia professionals to provide technical support during a variety of surgical procedures while maintaining a safe, sterile environment.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, works well under pressure, and has experience supporting multiple surgical specialties.
Responsibilities
Surgical Support:
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, supplies, and drapes.
- Establish and maintain a sterile surgical field throughout procedures.
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs by passing instruments, sutures, sponges, and supplies efficiently.
- Assist with accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts in collaboration with the circulating nurse.
- Support the surgical team to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow.
Surgical Specialties
Experience assisting with procedures in:
- General Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery (Fracture Care)
- Vascular Surgery
- Urology
Safety & Quality:
- Follow established aseptic and infection prevention practices.
- Maintain compliance with surgical safety protocols and organizational standards.
- Participate in required operating room orientation and ongoing training.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience supporting General Surgery, Orthopedic, Vascular, and Urology procedures.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and operating room procedures.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a contract or travel surgical technologist role.
