Position Summary:
An established healthcare system in Iowa is seeking an experienced executive leader to oversee the administrative, clinical, and operational functions of Women’s and Newborn Services across a multi-campus setting.
This role provides strategic, financial, and clinical direction for high-volume service lines, including Labor & Delivery, Maternity Surgical Services, Postpartum/Normal Newborn, Lactation, Level II and Level III NICUs, Neonatal Transport, and an OB Emergency Department. The Director will drive clinical excellence, fiscal management, employee engagement, quality outcomes, and community/rural care coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Executive & Strategic Leadership: Direct operational functions across multiple campuses; build strategic partnerships, align standards of care, and lead service line expansion initiatives.
- Clinical & Operational Management: Oversee clinical pathways, staffing models, workflow efficiency, and process improvements across obstetrics and neonatal units.
- Financial & Resource Stewardship: Manage operational and capital budgets, optimize resource allocation, and leverage reimbursement/payer models to maintain fiscal health.
- Provider & Interdisciplinary Liaison: Serve as the administrative liaison for medical staff, physicians, and health system committees to promote care integration.
- Quality, Safety & Compliance: Utilize evidence-based outcomes data to drive continuous improvement; ensure ongoing compliance with specialty designations, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Team Development & Engagement: Cultivate a Just Culture prioritizing patient and workplace safety; support professional nursing practice models, shared governance, and continuous leadership development.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related master’s degree [Required].
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership (Manager-level or above) in Obstetrics and/or NICU settings with demonstrated outcomes [Required].
Licensure & Certifications:
- RN License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Iowa (Compact RN license accepted) [Required].
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) [Required].
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license for work-related travel [Required].
