Job Title: EEG Technician (Full-Time)
Job Summary: We are seeking an independent and skilled EEG Technician to join our dedicated neurology department. In this role, you will perform a variety of neurodiagnostic procedures—including routine EEGs, Ambulatory EEGs, and Smartskans—while working closely with our attending neurologists. The ideal candidate will be proficient with digital EEG equipment, comfortable managing a daily schedule independently, and capable of providing high-quality data for physician interpretation.
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Procedure Execution: Perform routine EEGs, Ambulatory EEGs, Smartskans, and long-term monitoring in accordance with department policies and the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ASET) standards.
- Patient Care: Properly identify patients, review clinical history to ensure test appropriateness, explain procedures to ease anxiety, and accurately utilize the international 10-20 measurement system for electrode placement.
- Documentation & Systems: Navigate electronic medical records (EPIC) to log data and provide neurologists with critical clinical details needed for accurate interpretation.
- Lab & Equipment Care: Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot digital EEG equipment daily. Maintain clean logs, manage inventory, and stock machines to ensure regulatory readiness (JC, CDC, and State standards).
- Cross-Functional Support: Work independently to prioritize daily assignments and assist within the cardiac services department as needed.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of EEG experience required.
- EMR: Proficient experience with EPIC is required.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited EEG school.
- Certification: ABRET Certification is highly preferred. Candidates without a certification will be considered if they possess 10+ years of dedicated EEG experience.
- Life Support: Active CPR certification.
