Position Overview:
An Interim / Nurse OR Leader is needed for a 40-hour, full-time day shift position in Owosso, MI. Reporting directly to the Director, this role holds 24-hour operational responsibility for nursing personnel, ancillary staff, and patient care delivery within the Operating Room department.

Schedule & Shift Details:
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week.
  • Shift Type: Days.
  • Attire: Business casual for meetings; facility-provided OR scrubs for daily operations.
  • Weekend Requirements: No on-site weekend or holiday requirements.
  • On-Call Requirements: No formal call requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Operational Leadership: Oversee daily departmental operations, manage unit budgets, monitor productivity targets, and maintain safe staffing levels.
  • Team Development: Direct recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, competency assessments, and leadership coaching for clinical coordinators in partnership with Talent Management.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure full compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards; lead annual unit-based quality initiatives (HCAHPS, core measures, Value-Based Purchasing); conduct monthly departmental safety rounds.
  • Departmental Engagement: Participate in the Nursing Leadership Council, serve on organizational committees, conduct monthly off-shift rounding, and lead monthly staff meetings.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of total RN experience [Required].
    • 2+ years of Operating Room (OR) clinical experience [Required].
    • 1+ years of recent nursing supervision/leadership experience in an acute care setting within the last 2 years [Required].
    • Previous formal department leadership experience [Highly Preferred].
  • Licensure & Certifications:
    • Active Michigan RN License [Required].
    • Active CNOR Certification [Required].
    • Active AHA BLS and ACLS certifications [Required].
  • Health Requirements: COVID-19 vaccine required (qualifying exemptions accepted).
