About the Job
Job Title: Locum Tenens OB/GYN Physician (Full Scope).

Position Summary:
We are seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN Physician to provide comprehensive locum tenens coverage. This position handles full-scope OB/GYN care within a low-volume, low-acuity community setting. The ideal candidate will provide reliable coverage blocks, managing 24-hour pager call, low-volume emergency department consultations, and occasional clinic coverage.

Schedule & Clinical Volume:
  • Call Structure: 24-hour pager call. Coverage blocks require a minimum of 5 to 7 consecutive days, though extended blocks (10+ days) are highly preferred.
  • Call Volume: Low volume with rare call-backs. Emergency Department GYN volume is very low (averaging 1–2 consultations per month).
  • Clinic Coverage: Scheduled on an as-needed basis to support existing staff (typically Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM).
  • Clinic Volume: Averages 15 to 18 patients per day when clinic shifts are active.
  • Facility Overview: Full-scope care utilizing Epic EMR. The unit features a 10-bed LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) setup with a 2-bed newborn nursery (Level 1 NICU). Annual deliveries average approximately 360 per year (~30 per month).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide full-scope OB/GYN clinical care, including handling routine and emergent deliveries during both standard hours and call blocks.
  • Manage 24-hour pager call for acute obstetric and gynecological needs.
  • Conduct weekday outpatient clinic assessments, evaluations, and prenatal/postnatal care as needed.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with the onsite interdisciplinary nursing and healthcare teams (no supervision of mid-level providers required).
  • Maintain accurate, timely electronic charting within Epic.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications.
Education, Licensure & Certifications:
  • Board Certification: Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology [Required].
  • Licensure: Active state medical license, an active IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact) qualification, or candidates actively in the licensing pipeline will be considered [Required].
  • Prescribing Credentials: Active DEA and Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) [Required].
  • Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification [Required].

Compliance & Background:
  • Background Check: Clean malpractice and disciplinary background history [Required]. A recent National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) Self-Query report pulled within the last 30 days is required at presentation.
  • Health & Safety: Up-to-date immunization records, including proof of COVID-19 vaccination, are required by the facility.
  • Location Preference: Local or regional candidates are highly preferred, though all qualified providers able to meet consecutive shift minimums will be evaluated.

Premium Travel & Expense Reimbursements: This assignment offers a structured travel reimbursement package.
  • Airfare: Round-trip flights reimbursed up to a $750 cap (inclusive of taxes/fees).
  • Lodging: Professional hotel lodging provided/reimbursed up to a $179/night cap.
  • Ground Transportation: Rental car coverage provided up to a $50/day cap, or mileage reimbursement at the standard IRS rate if utilizing a personal vehicle.
  • Malpractice: Professional malpractice insurance coverage is included.
