Locum to Perm - Physician Assistant - Surgery - Cardiothoracic
Location: Lima, OH (Level 2 Trauma Center).
Assignment Dates: July 18-25 and December 25.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 08:00 - 16:00.
Call Requirements: Evening and weekend call/call-back required.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery PA to provide short-term coverage for a Level 2 Trauma facility in Lima, Ohio. This role involves a full continuum of care, including surgical first-assisting, inpatient rounding, and clinic coverage. The provider will work autonomously in clinical settings but will have a supervising surgeon present during OR cases and clinic hours.
Clinical Responsibilities & Duties:
- Surgical First-Assisting: Extensive experience required in Open Heart, Vascular, and Thoracic surgeries.
- Procedures: Proficiency in chest tube insertions, thoracentesis, and suture removal.
- Patient Management: Pre-op physical exams, ordering diagnostic tests, writing prescriptions, and inpatient rounding.
- Volume: Patient load varies based on surgical schedule and hospital census.
- EMR: Epic.
Submission & Compliance Requirements:
- Certification: NCCPA Board Certification is required.
- Licensure: Active Ohio State License preferred (Willing to wait for new license for the right candidate).
- Life Support: Active BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Vetting: A Self-Query NPDB report (dated within 30 days of presentation) is mandatory at the time of submission.
- Experience: Verified training or clinical experience in Cardiothoracic/Vascular surgery is required.
- Availability: Must be available for the exact dates listed to be considered.
