Medical Assistant (MA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an organized, proactive, and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our outpatient physician practice. In this role, you will deliver hands-on clinical support, assist with patient examinations and diagnostic testing, and help maintain an efficient patient flow to minimize wait times.
Candidates must be flexible and willing to float between local clinic locations as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Care & Rooming: Welcome and room patients, review medical histories, measure and record accurate vital signs, and prepare patients for examinations or minor clinical procedures.
- Clinical Procedures: Administer injections and routine immunizations, perform EKGs, and execute clinical tasks within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
- Provider & Practice Support: Assist physicians during clinical exams and treatments; maintain strict adherence to medical terminology and patient privacy standards.
- Workflow & Multitasking: Effectively prioritize tasks, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to shifting schedules to maintain optimal patient care and office flow.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of current clinical experience as a Medical Assistant [Required].
- Life Support Certification: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
- Travel Experience: Previous travel or locums experience [Highly Preferred].
- EHR Knowledge: Prior experience with Meditech EHR system [A Plus].
- Key Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology, proficient in vital signs, injection administration, and performing EKGs.
