Job Title: Medical Assistant (MA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, proactive Medical Assistant (MA) to join our outpatient physician office team. In this clinical support role, you will work directly alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, and administrative staff to deliver direct patient care, facilitate clinical workflows, and ensure the office operates efficiently.
This position is ideal for a certified Medical Assistant who excels at patient intake, clinical documentation, assisting with minor office procedures, and providing clear, compassionate patient communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care & Clinical Support:
- Patient Intake: Room patients, collect vital signs, record chief complaints, and gather detailed medical histories.
- Procedures & Specimen Collection: Prepare patients for office exams and minor surgical procedures; assist the physician during exams, specimen collection, and preparation.
- Surgical & Administrative Prep: Prepare surgical packets and ensure all necessary informed consent forms are completed accurately prior to procedures.
- Medication Administration: Administer injections and routine medications strictly under the direct supervision of the attending physician.
Patient Communication & Office Operations:
- Test Results & Care Plans: Contact patients as directed by the physician to relay diagnostic test results, treatment recommendations, and follow-up care instructions.
- Department Flow: Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and assist with daily clinical administration to optimize clinic efficiency.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
Certifications & Licensure:
- Medical Assistant Certification: Active national or state Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) [Required].
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
Experience & Attributes:
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice or ambulatory care clinic [Required].
- Travel Experience: Prior experience in travel or contract healthcare settings [Highly Preferred].
- Transportation: Reliable personal vehicle for daily commuting [Required].
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with strong attention to clinical detail.
