Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room RN First Assist (RNFA) for a 13-week travel assignment in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. This role provides advanced perioperative nursing support and first-assist services within a collaborative surgical environment.
The RNFA will work closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the operative process.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 40 hours guaranteed weekly
- No weekends
- Holiday coverage as needed
- Rotating on-call responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Serve as First Assist during surgical procedures
- Provide advanced perioperative nursing care
- Support surgeons during operative cases
- Float to additional operating room areas as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation within Meditech Expanse
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary surgical teams
- Participate in on-call rotation requirements
Requirements
Required
- Active Massachusetts RN License
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active CNOR Certification
- Current AHA BLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN First Assist experience
Preferred
- Meditech Expanse experience
- Previous travel nursing experience
Additional Requirements
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Reliable personal transportation required
- Ability to participate in on-call coverage
