Position Overview & Clinical Scope:

A long-term care and skilled nursing facility in north-central Texas is seeking a Temporary Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for day-shift coverage. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT), the COTA delivers direct therapeutic intervention to support patient rehabilitation, functional independence, and overall recovery.

Key Responsibilities & Clinical Duties:

Direct Patient Care & Rehabilitation:

Treatment Execution: Administer occupational therapy interventions, exercises, and activities according to individualized plans of care established by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Functional Mobility & ADLs: Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), adaptive equipment training, and physical rehabilitation techniques to restore patient independence.
Progress Tracking & Documentation: Observe, document, and report patient progress, responses to therapy, and functional outcomes to the supervising OT and interdisciplinary team.

Patient Safety & Advocacy:

Maintain a clean, secure, and supportive clinical environment ensuring patient safety during all therapeutic activities.

Candidate Submission & Qualification Requirements:

Experience & Certifications:

Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of active COTA experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or sub-acute rehabilitation settings [REQUIRED].
State Licensure: Active Texas Occupational Therapy Assistant License or valid Compact License [REQUIRED; must be verified in good standing].
