Job Title: Cardiovascular Perfusionist

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiovascular Perfusionist to join our surgical services team. In this critical role, you will operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during open-heart surgery and other medical procedures requiring cardiorespiratory support. You will work closely with cardiac surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to monitor and maintain physiological stability for surgical patients.

Schedule & Call Requirements:

Shift Structure: Full-time, 3 x 12-Hour Day Shifts
On-Call: 1 weeknight call shift per week
Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend coverage

Key Responsibilities:

Extracorporeal Support: Select, assemble, set up, and operate the heart-lung machine and related equipment during adult open-heart and vascular surgical procedures.
Physiological Monitoring: Monitor hemodynamic parameters, blood gases, anticoagulation, and metabolic status during bypass, adjusting pump flow and clinical parameters accordingly.
Advanced Therapies: Administer blood products, medications, and anesthetics via the extracorporeal circuit; manage autotransfusion/cell saver systems and mechanical circulatory support devices (e.g., IABP, ECMO) as required.
Quality & Safety: Perform continuous quality control, equipment safety checks, routine preventative maintenance, and clear clinical documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Perfusion education program [Required].
Certification: Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) credential through the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) or Board Eligible [Required].
Certification: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications [Required].
Core Competencies: Proficiency in adult cardiopulmonary bypass, autotransfusion techniques, intra-aortic balloon pumps, excellent stress management skills, and strong surgical team communication.
