Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly detailed and organized Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our clinical diagnostics team. In this role, you will perform essential clinical laboratory testing that aids physicians in the crucial detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.
This position offers a high level of professional autonomy, requiring a technician who can think and act independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a strict commitment to laboratory safety, quality control, and punctuality.

Compensation & Commuting Perks:
  • Hourly Rate: $30.00 - $44.00 / hour (This is a union position; the specific hourly rate is determined strictly by verifiable years of experience).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clinical Testing: Perform standard medical laboratory techniques and analytical procedures across various laboratory departments to provide accurate diagnostic data.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate specialized automated analyzers, microscopes, centrifuges, pipettors, and pneumatic tube transport systems.
  • Information Systems: Utilize the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) alongside standard office software to document and track patient results.
  • Quality & Safety: Strict adherence to established laboratory safety precautions, quality assurance measures, and standard protocols.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Communicate effectively and professionally with internal departments, medical staff, and the public while maintaining strict patient confidentiality.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:

Education & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Compliance Baseline: Must minimally meet the current qualifications listed under the "Clinical Laboratory Personnel Requirements" defined by CLIA-88, the State Department of Human Services, the College of American Pathologists (CAP), and Joint Commission standards [Required].
  • Academic Degree: Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science [Required]. (Note: An MLT registry with ASCP, AMT, or equivalent is required if a high school diploma was received after 1992; copies of academic degrees or official transcripts will be required upon hire).

Core Skills & Experience:

  • Technical Experience: Hands-on working knowledge operating automated laboratory analyzers, pipettors, microscopes, and LIS/HIS software [Required].
  • Operational Strengths: High-level organizational skills, the ability to multi-task under pressure, strong critical thinking capabilities, and legible handwriting.
