Job Title: Occupational Therapist (OTR) – Outpatient / Acute Float

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and clinically skilled Occupational Therapist (OTR) to join our therapy team. This position focuses on delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care through accurate assessment, goal-specific treatment planning, and targeted therapeutic intervention.
The ideal candidate will primarily serve an diverse outpatient population while occasionally floating to support acute care needs. In this role, you will also play a key leadership function by delegating responsibilities to and supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), aides, and students.

Compensation & Incentives:
  • Starting Salary: $32.00+ / hour (commensurate with experience).
  • Sign-On Bonus: $14,000 sign-on bonus available with a standard 2-year commitment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Evaluations: Evaluate patient functional capacity by performing formal and informal clinical testing to determine skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, social, and cognitive status.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement customized, frequency-specific treatment regimens based on initial assessment data and individual patient tolerance levels.
  • Documentation & Billing: Complete accurate, timely clinical documentation and progress notes for medical charts and billing procedures in full compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Team Supervision: Provide clinical oversight and supervision for Occupational Therapist Assistants, support staff, and rotating students according to regulatory standards.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participate in team conferences and interdisciplinary meetings to maximize the quality of patient care, functioning as a case manager for assigned cases.
  • Patient & Family Education: Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on specific pathologies, home education programs, and the rationale behind prescribed exercises or adaptive equipment.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
Education, Licensure & Certifications:
  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program [Required].
  • Registry: Active NBCOT Certification [Required].
  • Credential: Active Occupational Therapist (OTR) license in good standing [Required].
  • Life Support: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 1 month of hire [Highly Preferred].

Experience & Preferences:
  • Experience Level: More than 1 year of clinical experience is preferred, though new graduates will be considered [Highly Preferred].
  • Clinical Setting: Prior experience working in an Outpatient clinical environment [Highly Preferred].
  • Professional Affiliation: Active membership with the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) [Preferred].

Physical & Mental Demands:
  • Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must be able to occasionally lift/carry 21-50 lbs., frequently lift up to 20 lbs., and safely manage regular postural changes (stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling).
  • High level of mental alertness and dexterity required to perform fine-motor clinical routines.
  • Comfort working independently in an active environment with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and communicable illnesses (proper PPE provided).
