Job Summary:
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT I) to join our technology-driven healthcare team. This position is primarily based in an outpatient setting, with occasional floating to acute care as needed. In this patient-focused role, you will be responsible for assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation to help restore optimal patient function. You will also delegate tasks to and supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Aides, and students.
- Compensation: $32.00+ per hour (increases based on experience)
- Incentive: $14,000 sign-on bonus (requires a 2-year commitment)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients' skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive functions.
- Develop, implement, and update goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pathologies, prognoses, and home education programs (rest, exercise, and modalities).
- Supervise, guide, and co-sign verbal orders for Occupational Therapist Assistants and support staff.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary team members, recommend adaptive/supportive equipment, and complete daily documentation necessary for billing.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience is highly preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Setting: Prior outpatient experience is highly preferred.
Certifications & Licensures:
- OTR: Registered Occupational Therapist certification required.
- NBCOT: National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy required.
- BLS: Basic Life Support certification preferred (required within 1 month of hire).
- Membership: AOTA membership is preferred but not required.
Physical & Working Conditions:
- Physical Demand Level: Medium. Ability to lift/carry up to 21–50 lbs. occasionally, and 20 lbs. frequently.
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, and postural changes (stooping, kneeling, crouching).
- Ability to work independently, manage stress effectively in clinical situations, and utilize computer systems (such as Windows) for documentation.
