Job Title: Mobile Point of Care Lab Technician (LVN, MLT, or CLS)
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and autonomous Mobile Point of Care Lab Technician to perform waived laboratory testing and blood collection in a dynamic, field-based mobile setting. Serving long-term care and healthcare facilities, you will operate a delivery van to bring mobile lab services directly to areas requiring high-volume or STAT testing. Shift & Daily Requirements
- Daily Fleet Routine: Must physically commute to the regional dispatch hub to pick up and return the company mobile lab van for every scheduled shift.
- Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.

Key Responsibilities
- Mobile Lab Operations: Drive a designated company mobile lab van to facility locations to manage point-of-care testing and maintain strict turnaround times for the STAT board.
- Laboratory Testing: Process and execute waived testing across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular, and Coagulation disciplines under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager.
- Quality Control: Check, record, and maintain strict quality control (QC) logs for each test run; instantly escalate anomalies or "rare and improbable" results to management.
- Specimen Collection & Data Entry: Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture and capillary specimens), receive specimens from couriers, and accurately enter patient demographics and data into the laboratory information system.
- Maintenance & Inventory: Perform routine maintenance on automated laboratory instrumentation, troubleshoot basic hardware/software glitches, and track reagent lot numbers to maintain compliance.
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Professional License: Must hold an active California state license qualifying as testing personnel. Acceptable licenses are strictly limited to:
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
- Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
- Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) (Note: Standalone Phlebotomist certifications are not accepted for this role).
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent [Required].
- Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history and a proven ability to safely operate a commercial delivery van [Required].
- Health & Compliance: Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination/booster (or a documented and approved medical/religious exemption) [Required].
- Experience: Strong familiarity with laboratory processes, workflows, and manual phlebotomy techniques [Preferred].
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Regular exposure to clinical environment hazards, including blood-borne pathogens, biological materials, and chemical reagents (full safety protocols and PPE training provided).
- Ability to lift/move up to 15 lbs frequently, alongside tasks requiring fine motor control, depth perception, and standard color vision accuracy.
