Role Overview:
Seeking a qualified laboratory professional to perform waived diagnostic testing in a remote/mobile laboratory setting. This role involves operating a mobile laboratory unit, processing specimens, performing point-of-care testing, and managing test reporting while maintaining rigorous quality control and safety standards.
Schedule & Travel Requirements:
- Shift Details: Evening Shift | Monday – Friday (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
- Daily Commute Requirement: Must report to the San Leandro dispatch site daily to pick up and return the company mobile lab vehicle for each shift.
- On-Call/Weekends: To be discussed during the interview process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a mobile lab delivery van to perform high-volume or STAT point-of-care testing.
- Run waived laboratory tests across Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Molecular, and Coagulation.
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood collection; process incoming specimens.
- Execute data entry of patient demographics, order entries, and test results into the LIS.
- Maintain strict quality control (QC), troubleshoot instrument/software issues, and track STAT turnaround times.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements:
- Licensure: Active California LVN (Licensed Vocational Nurse), MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician), or CLS (Clinical Laboratory Scientist) license required to meet state testing personnel rules. (Note: Phlebotomist-only certifications are not eligible.)
- Driver's License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required.
- Vaccination: COVID-19 vaccination required (or approved medical/religious exemption).
- Skills & Physicals: Phlebotomy/lab testing experience preferred; ability to lift/push laboratory equipment (up to 50 lbs force).
