Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join a rehabilitation team serving patients in a Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care setting. Working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will help patients improve mobility, reduce pain, and maximize independence through individualized treatment plans.
Responsibilities:
- Administer physical therapy treatments according to the established plan of care.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, mobility training, and therapeutic modalities.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans and home exercise programs.
- Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team.
- Assist with discharge planning and patient progress evaluations.
- Maintain compliance with APTA standards and state practice regulations.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active Texas Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License or Compact Privilege.
- Minimum of one (1) year of PTA experience.
- Experience in Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, or Inpatient Rehabilitation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
New Graduates:
- Exceptional new graduates who have completed an immersive Level II clinical rotation are encouraged to apply.
