We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse (RN) with strong critical care expertise to deliver holistic, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced procedure environment. In this role, you will manage adult patients undergoing complex diagnostic and therapeutic fluoroscopic, CT, and ultrasound-guided procedures.
Utilizing independent judgment, clinical reasoning, and collaborative practice, you will execute full-scope nursing care—including procedural sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, patient assessment, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Procedural Nursing Care:
Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Execute the complete nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to develop and adjust individualized plans of care for adult patients.
Intra-Procedural Care: Administer and titrate conscious sedation/analgesia, monitor vital signs and hemodynamic parameters, and manage patient airway and status during interventional radiology procedures.
Pre & Post-Procedure Management: Conduct thorough pre-procedure patient evaluations and manage post-procedure recovery, including sheath removal, access site monitoring, and discharge teaching.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Quality:
Multidisciplinary Coordination: Partner closely with interventional radiologists, technologists, and clinical support staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care transitions.
Delegation & Practice Standards: Delegate clinical tasks appropriately to healthcare team members and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
Licensure & Certifications:
Nursing License: Active, unrestricted State Registered Nurse (RN) license [Required].
Life Support Certifications:
Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC) [Required].
Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA or ARC) [Required].
Experience & Clinical Skills:
Critical Care Background: Minimum of 3+ years of Critical Care experience (ICU or Emergency Department) [Required].
Specialty Experience: Demonstrated experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) Nursing[Required].
Patient Population: Direct clinical experience caring for the Adult Patient Population[Required].
EHR & Specialty Skills: Prior experience with Epic Electronic Health Record System and clinical experience with Stroke/Neuro interventional care[Preferred].
