Job Title: Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med-Surg RN)
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join a fast-paced, 60-bed Med-Surg unit. In this role, you will deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population, including post-surgical cases, general medical conditions, trauma, stroke recovery, and inpatient hospice. Working within an engaged interdisciplinary care team, you will utilize clinical pathways and holistic nursing practices to drive positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Comprehensive Patient Care: Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care based on physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments tailored to patient goals.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, and care teams using structured communication protocols (SBAR) to ensure continuous quality of care.
  • Clinical Execution: Monitor vital signs, manage complex medications, perform advanced wound care, and address rapid changes in patient conditions.
  • Patient & Family Education: Utilize clinical pathways and interactive communication to educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning.
  • Unit Leadership & Time Management: Serve as a clinical resource and role model within the unit, demonstrating effective time management in a high-volume acute care environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of dedicated, straight Medical-Surgical RN experience [Required]. (Float pool, Step-Down, or Telemetry experience will not satisfy this requirement).
  • Trauma Experience: Experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center setting [Required].
  • Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License [Required].
  • Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
  • Travel Experience: Prior healthcare travel contract experience [Preferred].
