Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry (Med-Surg/Tele)
Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical care team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing complete patient care through assessment, care planning, medication administration, and continuous telemetry monitoring. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality, patient- and family-centered care while ensuring patient safety and adherence to clinical standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Perform comprehensive physical, psychological, and social admissions assessments; formulate, implement, and update individualized written plans of care every 24 hours based on patient progress.
- Telemetry & Rhythm Interpretation: Continuously monitor, read, and interpret cardiac telemetry heart rhythms; recognize subtle changes in patient condition and initiate immediate clinical interventions.
- Patient & Family Education: Empower patients and their families by providing clear instruction regarding medical conditions, medication administration, and post-discharge self-care skills.
- Safety & Infection Control: Maintain a safe care environment by adhering strictly to infection-control protocols, safe medication storage/administration procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
- Unit Flexibility & Collaboration: Direct and delegate tasks to ancillary nursing staff, collaborate with case management for discharge planning, and float to Progressive Care Units (PCU) as needed to support patient care needs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Clinical Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) nursing experience [Required].
Clinical Competencies:
- Demonstrated proficiency in Telemetry and cardiac rhythm interpretation [Required] (Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia assessment prior to clinical shifts).
- Experience floating to Progressive Care Units (PCU) [Required].
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) License [Required].
Certifications:
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
- Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
- Core Competencies: Strong clinical assessment skills, multidisciplinary communication, patient advocacy, and adaptability in dynamic acute care settings.
