Job Opportunity: Intake Therapist (Behavioral Health Urgent Care)
We are seeking a dedicated Intake Therapist to join a leading behavioral health team in Michigan. This role is based in a Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) setting, providing critical walk-in and scheduled intake assessments for children, adults, and families.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Pay: $29.47 – $39.88 per hour (Fully Licensed).
- Note: Salary is grant-based and non-negotiable.

- Paid Holidays: Includes 11.5 days (e.g., Juneteenth, MLK Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, and holiday eves).
- Professional Growth: Paid training and mileage reimbursement ($0.70/mile).
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday (4:00 pm – 12:00 am), Friday (4:00 pm – 11:00 pm). Occasional Saturdays (9:00 am – 2:00 pm). Flexible part-time or full-time options may be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessments: Conduct comprehensive intake assessments for adults and children to identify service needs and preferences.
- Documentation: Complete all clinical documentation and safety plans within 48 hours.
- Collaboration: Utilize motivational interviewing and Person-Centered Planning to assist consumers in initiating their treatment journey.
- Care Coordination: Integrate information from family, guardians, and medical history to facilitate referrals for specialized testing or long-term services.
- Compliance: Participate in clinical supervision, case consultations, and maintain 25 hours of annual position-specific training.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
- Licensure: Full Michigan Licensure is required (LMSW, LLP, or LPC). Must be active and free from disciplinary action.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year post-Master’s experience treating adults and children with severe mental illness.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD).
- One (1) year of experience in the treatment of minors and their families.
- Crisis Intervention experience is highly preferred.
- Certifications:
- Must obtain QMHP, CMHP, and QIDP credentials within 120 days of hire.
- Must possess a CAADC credential or be on an approved MCBAP Development Plan within six weeks of hire.
- Legal: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (No sponsorship or student/work visas accepted).
