Shift: 8-Hour Days | Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (No 10 or 12-hour shifts).
Weekend / Call Requirements: No standard weekends or call required (Call rate: $4.00/hr if applicable).

Position Summary:
An outpatient/inpatient facility in Southern Vermont is seeking a contract Cardiac Sonographer to perform routine and sub-specialty echocardiography exams (including stress echo and transesophageal echocardiography) using 2D, color Spectral Doppler, and M-mode imaging. The ideal candidate functions independently, synthesizes complex patient histories, and maintains patient safety throughout testing.

Key Responsibilities & Operational Expectations:
  • Perform independent cardiac diagnostic imaging and consult with ordering/interpreting physicians on unusual findings.
  • Perform or be willing to cross-train for vascular examinations.
  • Safely transfer, move, and lift patients, equipment, and supplies as required.
  • Operate facility Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and Clinical Information Systems (CIS).
  • Maintain working knowledge of clinical emergency equipment (oxygen tanks, suction apparatus, etc.).
  • Complete an 8-hour non-billable orientation upon start.

Position Requirements:
  • Experience: 2+ years of recent Cardiac/Echo Sonographer experience [Required]. Vascular experience [Preferred].
  • Certifications:
    • Active ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS) credential [Required].
    • RVT (ARDMS) or RVS (CCI) certification [Preferred].
    • Active AHA or ARC BLS certification [Required].
  • Transport: Must possess a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Locality Restriction: Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are ineligible for this travel contract. Permanent home address must be verified at submittal.

Holiday & Schedule Commitments:
  • Holiday Rotation: Travelers must be available to work at least TWO of the following holiday blocks if scheduled:
    • Thanksgiving Day / Friday after / Weekend after.
    • Christmas Eve through Christmas Day / Weekend after.
    • New Year's Eve through New Year's Day / Weekend after.
  • Requested Time Off (RTO): Maximum of 5 days total RTO allowed. All requested time off MUST be submitted up front with the candidate profile. No RTO will be approved during/after the interview process.

Submission & Profile Requirements:
  • Updated Work History.
  • Permanent Home Address.
  • Echo Tech Skills Checklist (completed within the last 12 months).
  • 1 Supervisory Signed Reference (from within the past 2 years).
  • Copy of Active ARDMS/CCI Card and AHA BLS Certification.
  • All verified RTO dates clearly listed at submittal.
