Role Overview:

Seeking a skilled Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist for a temporary contract assignment in Port Huron, MI. The Cath Lab Tech assists cardiologists and vascular surgeons during diagnostic and interventional cardiac, vascular, and special procedures. The specialist ensures high-quality imaging, maintains sterility, operates advanced diagnostic equipment, and supports continuous patient care in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Key Responsibilities & Clinical Scope:

  • Procedural Support: Assist physicians with interventional and diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, peripheral vascular interventions, and special procedures.
  • Diagnostic Imaging & Equipment Operation: Operate C-arm fluoroscopy and specialized cardiac imaging equipment; calibrate and maintain diagnostic tools to ensure optimal image quality and radiation safety.
  • Patient Care & Monitoring: Prepare patients for catheterization procedures, assist with patient positioning and sterile prepping, monitor hemodynamic responses, and coordinate care continuity.
  • Departmental Efficiency & Quality Control: Support department throughput, comply with quality assurance guidelines, maintain equipment inventories, and document procedural details accurately.

Qualifications & Candidate Requirements:

Education & Certifications:

  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology OR graduation from a JRCERT-accredited Radiography program [REQUIRED].
  • Active ARRT registration [REQUIRED].
  • Active BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [REQUIRED].
  • Active ACLS certification [REQUIRED].
  • Schedule & On-Call Structure.
    • Shift Options:
      • Full-Time 8-Hour Option: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (40 hours/week).
      • 10-Hour Option: Open to 4x10-hour day schedule based on department manager approval.
    • Weekend Requirements: Rotating weekend coverage (one weekend shift/month).
    • On-Call Requirements: 6 to 10 days per month (including weekend call rotations), subject to departmental volume and leaves.
