Job Title: MRI Radiology Department Aide – Travel Contract

Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious MRI / Radiology Department Aide for a full-time travel contract assignment. In this role, you will work directly within the MRI department, providing critical operational support to MRI Technologists. You will assist with patient transport, room turnover, and safety screening workflows to ensure an efficient imaging environment. You will always work alongside an experienced technologist or fellow aide—never solo—maintaining a steady volume of approximately 9 patients per shift.

  • Special Traveling Note: The facility is highly receptive to reviewing Travel Pairs consisting of an MRI Technologist and an MRI Aide. If you are traveling with an MRI Tech, please indicate this upon application.

Position & Shift Details:
  • Job Type: Full-Time, Travel Contract
  • Shift Structure: Standard 8-hour shifts (Evenings and weekends required). Block scheduling or compressed 10/12-hour shifts are not available for this position.
  • Call Requirements: Must be willing to take call shifts as assigned (department coverage transitions to an on-call model after midnight).
  • Overtime & Holiday Multipliers: 1.25x the standard hourly contract rate.
  • Orientation: Includes 8 hours of non-billable orientation.
  • Logistics: Candidates must possess their own reliable vehicle for this assignment. All requested time off (RTO) must be locked in at submission; a maximum of 5 days of RTO can be considered.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience & Technical Skills:
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2 years of current clinical experience working within an active MRI department [Required].
  • Equipment Knowledge: Prior operational familiarity with GE MRI Equipment (specifically systems running HDXT 16.0 / 23.0 software platforms) [Required].
  • EMR Systems: Prior charting or scheduling experience utilizing Meditech Expanse is [Strongly Preferred].

Certifications & Compliance:
  • Life Support: Active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification [Required].
  • Submission Records: Must provide an updated work history, an MRI-specific skills checklist completed within the last year, and one signed supervisory reference from the past two years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technologist Support: Work collaboratively with MRI Technologists to prepare imaging suites, position patients safely, and ensure standard workflows run efficiently.
  • Patient Safety & Care: Assist with patient navigation and transfer, ensuring strict adherence to MRI zone safety rules and accident prevention guidelines before entering the magnetic field.
  • Department Flow: Manage room turnover, clean and sanitize specialized coil equipment between scans, and keep inventory stocked for an average volume of 9 patients per shift.
  • Clinical Communication: Use excellent verbal skills to interface between patients, nursing staff, and the imaging team regarding scheduling priorities or call-back delays.
  • Systems Utilization: Input basic clinical updates or log tracking indicators within the departmental electronic medical records platform.
