Job Title: Radiation Therapist (ARRT-T)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiation Therapist to join our oncology care team. In this role, you will be responsible for the precise delivery of quality patient care through advanced radiation therapy treatments. You will perform critical treatment simulations, fabricate necessary shielding blocks, and maintain meticulous Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
The ideal candidate will seamlessly blend clinical excellence with a strong commitment to optimal radiation safety, strict infection control techniques, and collaborative inter-disciplinary cooperation with our medical staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Treatment Delivery & Simulation: Safely and accurately execute prescribed radiation therapy treatments and perform detailed patient treatment simulations.
- Shielding Fabrication: Fabricate all necessary patient-specific shielding blocks and immobilization devices to ensure precise targeting.
- Quality Control: Prepare and calibrate specialized imaging/treatment hardware, performing mandatory daily quality control and machine assurance testing.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to national standards of practice, rigorous environmental safety controls, and optimal radiation protection guidelines.
- Clinical Documentation: Maintain exact, real-time documentation within the electronic health records system to support ongoing care plans.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
Licensure & Certifications:
- Primary Registry: Active ARRT (T) Certification in Radiation Therapy [Required].
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
Experience & Core Competencies:
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of dedicated Radiation Therapist experience [Required].
- System Familiarity: Must possess either 1 year of travel contract experience OR post-graduation work experience specifically utilizing Varian and ARIA platforms [Required].
- Technology Preferences: Prior clinical hands-on experience with TrueBeam, ARIA, and Trilogy systems [Highly Preferred].
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster strong, collaborative working relationships with medical staff and oncology teams.
