Job Title: Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) – Stepdown / CVU
Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional, highly skilled Cardiovascular Registered Nurse (RN) to join our top-performing Cardiovascular Unit (CVU). Our advanced unit cares for thousands of cardiology patients annually, managing complex procedures such as PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers.
As a critical member of this team, you will utilize your clinical judgment to diagnose and treat patient responses to acute cardiac conditions, manage patients 18–24 hours post-op from open-heart surgery, and care for individuals undergoing electrophysiology studies or managing congestive heart failure. This unit proudly operates alongside a research department managing national clinical trials, offering an environment dedicated to optimal patient outcomes and clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cardiac Clinical Care: Deliver specialized, evidence-based nursing care to stepdown and post-operative cardiovascular patients.
- Clinical Judgment: Assess, diagnose, and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions within a fast-paced CVU setting.
- Telemetry & EKG Monitoring: Maintain high comfortability with EKG tracking, arrhythmia interpretation, and immediate cardiac interventions.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work as a cohesive team member alongside leadership and medical staff to maintain top performance in care, efficiency, and safety.
- Flexible Unit Support: Maintain adaptability and a willingness to float to similar cardiac acuity units based on facility and patient care needs.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Stepdown Clinical Background: Minimum of 1+ year of dedicated Stepdown / Progressive Care experience [Required].
- Specialty Proficiency: Demonstrated, hands-on clinical proficiency in Cardiac Nursing [Required].
- Contract Logistics: Previous travel nursing experience or a strong understanding of travel contract adaptability [Required].
Licensure & Certifications:
- State Licensure: Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan [Required].
- Life Support Credentials:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) [Required].
- Basic Life Support (BLS) [Required].
