Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and technically skilled MRI Technologist to perform a wide range of routine and specialized Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care settings. This role involves maintaining strict compliance with ARRT standards, upholding precise MRI safety protocols, and assisting with essential departmental leadership and supervisory workflows. The ideal candidate will blend strong clinical capability with exceptional patient communication and professional customer service.
Position & Department Overview:
- Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
- Patient Population: All age groups (Pediatric through Geriatric)
- Clinical Scope: High-volume diagnostic imaging across inpatient units, outpatients, and urgent emergency department triages.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications
Experience & Technical Skillset:
- Scanner Experience: Minimum of 1+ year of recent, hands-on experience operating GE MRI equipment [Required].
- Clinical Versatility: Proven ability to administer contrast media safely, perform age-related technical positioning, and troubleshoot specialized equipment configurations.
- Supervisory Readiness: Demonstrated ability or clear experience managing baseline clinical oversight and executing assigned team-lead functions.
Licensure, Certifications & Credentials:
- Primary Registry: Active ARRT Certification [Required]. (Please note: ARMRIT certifications will not be considered for this position).
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification [Required].
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical MRI Studies: Independently execute high-quality magnetic resonance imaging studies utilizing correct positioning protocols, safety barriers, and accurate contrast administration.
- Image Quality Assurance: Evaluate completed scans for technical quality, precision, and diagnostic clarity prior to sending them to the reading room; assist radiologists directly with complex procedures as requested.
- Equipment Care & Maintenance: Perform critical daily equipment warm-ups, calibrations, and safety system checks on the MRI scanner and associated hardware in strict accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Patient Care & Orders: Verify physician clinical orders, consult with radiologists regarding unexpected pathology or screening variances, and provide clear pre-and-post-procedure instructions to reduce patient anxiety.
- Administrative Documentation: Efficiently navigate the hospital electronic health record (EHR) and radiology information systems, promptly reporting any hardware or software malfunctions to senior leadership.
