Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing complex nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring strict quality control of equipment, and maintaining compliance with all state and federal regulatory guidelines.
This role requires a clinician with strong technical expertise in operating Gamma cameras and SPECT/CT scanners, as well as the ability to provide clinical instruction to students and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Excellence: Perform nuclear medicine examinations and procedures, including SPECT/CT and PET/CT scans, and cardiac stress equipment operation.
- Quality Control: Execute daily quality control measures on equipment, including troubleshooting and maintenance to ensure high-quality imaging results.
- Patient Care: Administer intramuscular and intravenous injections, start IV lines, and monitor EKG during cardiac studies.
- Documentation: Maintain precise records of radioactive material receipt/disposition, procedural data, and patient medical records in compliance with safety standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Physicians to determine appropriate procedures and maintain positive working relationships across departments.
- Education: Provide clinical instruction for Radiology students and residents, staying current with advancements in the field.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 24 months of current Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience (Required).
- Experience with Siemens and Spectrum Imaging is highly preferred.
- Certification & Licensure:
- Active permanent or temporary Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification from the Texas Medical Board (Required).
- Active ARRT (N) or CNMT certification (Required).
- Current AHA BLS certification (Required).
- Technical Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of chemistry, physics, and mathematics related to nuclear medicine.
- Proficiency in starting IV lines and administering injections.
- Basic knowledge of nuclear medicine therapeutic treatments and EKG for cardiac studies.
