Job Title: Operating Room (OR) X-Ray Technician – Travel Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable X-Ray Technician specializing in Operating Room (OR) imaging for a travel contract assignment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating imaging equipment within a fast-paced surgical environment, establishing workflows under pressure, and maintaining high clinical standards. IV Power Injector Certification is strictly required for this role.

Compensation & Contract Details:
  • Hourly Pay Rate: Competitive Contract Rates Available.
  • Overtime & Holiday Multipliers: 1.25x the base rate.
  • Orientation: Includes 8 hours of non-billable clinical orientation.

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
Experience & Clinical Background:
  • X-Ray Experience: Minimum of 1 year of current, hands-on X-Ray experience [Required].
  • Surgical Experience: Direct, proven experience working as an X-Ray Tech within an Operating Room (OR) setting [Required].
  • Traveler Status: Previous or current healthcare travel contract experience is highly preferred.

Licensure & Certifications:
  • Specialty Certification: IV Power Injector Certification [Required].
  • Professional Registry: Active ARRT (R) Certification [Required].
  • State Licensure: Active New York State Radiologic Technologist License [Required - must be uploaded with profile].
  • Life Support: Current BLS Certification [Required].

Pre-Employment Training & Screening:
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete mandatory verbal de-escalation/crisis prevention training (e.g., Welle, CPI, or PMCS) prior to onboarding clearance.
  • Ability to clear a standard comprehensive pre-employment health and background 14-panel drug screening.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate specialized X-Ray and imaging equipment efficiently within the Operating Room to assist surgical teams during procedures.
  • Utilize IV power injectors accurately and safely in alignment with clinical certifications and protocols.
  • Navigate and maintain accurate patient imaging charts using the Cerner EMR system.
  • Collaborate dynamically with surgeons, nurses, and other surgical staff to ensure timely, high-quality diagnostic imaging while adhering to strict radiation safety standards.
