Schedule Details:
Shift Information:
- 8-hour daytime shifts.
- Monday–Friday schedule.
- Flexible start times between 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM.
- Start time must remain consistent once coordinated with rehab leadership.

- No regular weekends required.
- Weekend work only required if holiday schedule adjustments are needed.
- No on-call responsibilities.
Position Overview:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, treating, and monitoring patients with speech, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders within a long-term care setting.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, evidence-based treatment planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accurate documentation practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Evaluations & Treatment Planning:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and screenings.
- Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices.
- Utilize standardized assessments and clinical protocols.
- Adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and outcomes.
Therapy & Patient Care:
- Provide skilled speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing therapy services.
- Monitor patient responses and treatment effectiveness.
- Coordinate referrals and additional services when appropriate.
- Support safe discharge planning and continuity of care.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Complete accurate electronic documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Record treatment minutes and therapy services appropriately.
- Maintain adherence to ASHA standards and state practice regulations.
Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Participate in rehabilitation meetings, care conferences, and interdisciplinary discussions.
- Provide education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Support and mentor Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates or student clinicians as appropriate.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of Speech-Language Pathologist experience.
REQUIRED:
- Long-Term Care or Rehabilitation experience REQUIRED.
- Strong clinical and communication skills REQUIRED.
New Graduates:
- Exceptional new graduates may be considered.
- Must have completed hands-on Level II clinical experience.
- Observation-only clinical experience will not qualify.
Licensure & Certifications:
- Active CCC-SLP Certification REQUIRED.
- Active Missouri SLP License REQUIRED.
- Compact licenses accepted.
